PetWise always recommend that new owners collect their pets in person, after at least one home visit so that you can see the pet in its home environment first and ask any important questions related to the pet, its health and behaviour.

However delivery by the current to new owners can be a viable option after the initial visit because it may allow the current owners to view the accommodation that their animal will be rehomed into.

Remember, even if the current owner wishes to view the new accommodation before proceeding with the rehoming ( known as a ‘home check’) you should always visit the pet in their own home environment first. If rehoming a puppy or kitten under the age of 6 months you should also ensure that you meet the mother in their home environment before proceeding.
